Why to support Hope Link Child?

Hope link came to existence to help mitigating the community's socio-economic problems of the community of Rusinga Island, Kenya. Our statistics reveal that within the local population, of approximately 20,000 persons, families have between 5-10 members living in the same house, with basic income of one dollar per day and other live with 60 dollars per month the base line survey conducted by our volunteers.

The region suffers from numerous disease such as malaria, typhoid, STIs, HIV/AIDS which has caused more orphanage and vulnerability. The national rate of HIV/AIDS in KENYA stand at 6.8% while our region  has high rate and top nationally with 26% , more new incidence of HIV/AIDS acquisitions is still high due to poverty, hence more family end up in commercial sex to help provide for their you siblings.

The region has low rainfall and normally receive erotic and unreliable rainfall this has at time caused severe famine exposing additional burden.

This sum up to contribute to school drop out especially high amongst the girl child since most families may not provide for their children needs
and supported by the nature of occurrences of calamities which are ever there.

Hence it’s our sincere gratitude and appeal to requests for a link to this society through the willing heart and well wishers who may come to share the burden with us. Hope link has been a hope to this society through our program an activities that have strived to support the society.
